"Twelve Twelve Hundreds" is a celebratory series of re-imaginings of the iconic Technics SL1200/1210mk2 turntable.

A hugely culturally important product, the SL1200/1210mk2 was discontinued in 2010.

Since then I have been working on a series of twelve lovingly produced one-offs.

The work celebrates the product whilst exploring and challenging the conservative aesthetic conventions of audio product design - conventions that greatly frustrated me when i worked in this industry.

Vinyl is the superior format for music reproduction as well as for DJing, and so the series is only being shown in venues relating to vinyl culture - indie record shops, music venues and arts crossover spaces.

Below is an example from the series, 7/12 entitled "icebreaker". The design was inspired by the expansive shots of arctic icebreaker ship in shattered oceans. I removed features and detail and continued the design over edges to give an uninterrupted, expansive feel.
